“Since we live by the Spirit,
let us keep in step with the Spirit.”
Chaplains are ever-present in the lives of the military men and women they serve. Because we are held to the same rigorous standards, chaplains become a trusted member of the military family. As a chaplain, I am a subject matter expert on matters of faith, religion, and morale that leaders can turn to for advice and counsel. My mission is people. Some chaplain duties can include leading worship services and Bible studies, teaching classes on morals and ethics, counseling and supporting military members, and helping facilitate religious accommodations for servicemembers of all faiths.
On Team Rogers, I may be “the chaplain” in the family, but we believe this military life is a team effort. My wife, our daughter, and I are all called to this together, and God has a plan for each member of our family to thrive no matter where we are. Each of us have strengths to bring to the table and diverse opportunities to show the love of Christ to others in our daily lives. While I may be the one wearing the cross on my uniform, the Team Rogers family mission is to share the love of Jesus with the military community.
